That's "hello" in Korean. Aside from a few other pleasantries, that's the extent of my Korean repertoire.
In less than two days I'll be well on my way to Seoul, South Korea! I'm very anxious to get to Seoul and embark on this new adventure. I'll be working for Korean Broadcasting System in their international radio division, writing, editing, and delivering news in English. KBS World Radio broadcasts news in eleven languages, so I will work with a team of colleagues from around the world. The opportunity to work with and learn from such a diverse group is thrilling.
My first day of work will be Monday, October 1. I will likely go on-air the first day. Since completing my master's degree in broadcast journalism, I've been working in television production, so I'm eagerly awaiting the chance to get back in a newsroom and contribute to daily newscasts. The opportunity to work on the international level will be very rewarding; combining my love of journalism and passion for international experience.
I'll use this blog to share my interesting stories and experiences, but feel free to e-mail me anytime at my personal e-mail account, aarhodes@gmail.com. Please keep in touch!
